Potassium is found in every living cell. Without potassium in our diet muscle contraction stops and nerve impulses cease being transmitted. It’s just as important to a plants diet and the third of the NPK trio.

Potassium is derived mainly from deposits of potash around the world. The term potash came from early Americans who produced potassium carbonate for soaps by evaporating water filtered over wood ash. The residue left in the iron pots was called pot ash.

In the plants diet potassium is reponsible for water use and moves the other nutrients through the plant. fighting stress, especially during dry weather periods, is potassium’s specialty.
